Court hours: Traffic trials are usually scheduled for Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Court information: This is a very small Court that sees a great deal of vehicle and traffic matters from violations that occur on the Taconic State Parkway.  Most of the speeding tickets are issued by the New York State Police, and the Deputies from the Columbia County Sherriff’s Department.

At the present time, the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office prosecutes and negotiates the speeding tickets issued by the New York State Police.  The Sherriff’s Deputies prosecute their own tickets. This Court does not allow negotiations or plea bargains by mail for any traffic matters in this Court.

About the Town: According to the town webpage, the Town of Austerlitz was founded in the 1750s and many of the historic buildings still remain.
